Victory Heights — Ross Doyle

For first time homebuyers, Victory Heights and surrounding neighborhoods show signs of being what we might one day look back on as the last affordable frontier in downtown Marietta with multiple indicators pointing to healthy appreciation in the next 3-5 years. But the market break down will have to wait for the next post; this one's full all of all the reasons you're going to love living here. My good friend Sarah Stover and I took a day to walk the neighborhood. We checked out lots of neat properties, took in some sights, and had some good chats with some of the folks who call it home. Browse the pictures Sarah took. I think you'll agree, Victory Heights wouldn't be too bad a place to call home!

Have breakfast at The Manna House! And for those of us who enjoy a cocktail from time to time, Happy Charlie's Bottle Shop is right next door.

Swing in the Victory Park. He's a contractor. I'd be happy to introduce you if you're interested in one of the places in the neighborhood that need a little work.

The Post Office is in the neighborhood! ... not that many people go to these places anymore.

Full of modest, mid-century homes like this. I like them just as they are, but I'm sure there's tasteful ways to make additions. I should do a post on that soon.

You're going to need to meet these guys. They sell Benjamin Moore; the best paint in town.

The city put a great set of exercise equipment in Victory Park recently.
